At ARQ-analítica, we conduct archaeozoological studies focused on the analysis of animal bone remains from archaeological contexts, using a systematic methodology that ensures proper documentation and interpretation.
The work includes cleaning, sorting, and taxonomic identification of the remains, as well as estimation of the minimum number of individuals (MNI) and the minimum number of skeletal elements (MNE), providing a solid quantitative basis for the study of faunal assemblages.
The analysis is completed with the estimation of the relative abundance index (%MAU), as well as the determination of biological parameters such as sex and age, when the preservation state of the material allows.
Additionally, osteometric and paleopathological analyses are performed, contributing to the interpretation of animal exploitation practices, resource management, and the living conditions reflected in the archaeological record.
